Yesterday I spent the afternoon with one of the world’s top modelling agencies, Elite Management Management, where I got to meet 22 finalists (11 girls and 11 boys) at a photo shoot. The agency is looking for its next top model and has scouted models from all over the country. On Tuesday evening, two winners (one boy and one girl) will be chosen and given a contract with Elite.
It was a boiling hot sticky day due to the humidity. Fortunately there were plenty of cold drinks inside Location 18 Studios to keep us chilled as I watched the models and photographer Kate Cox at work. It gave me a good insight as to what goes on behind the scene at bootcamp, where all the models are taught about the basics of photo shoots, choreography, eating healthily and how to walk like a professional catwalk model.
Tomorrow I will be going to see the girls learn how to walk like a catwalk model for the very first time. Incredibly, they are given one day to master the walk, so it is pretty intensive!
