If you are wondering why I am holding my iPhone in my hands for the photos, well I used the phone as a remote control for my camera!
Two days ago, as I browsed along Oxford Street that evening, I went into House of Fraser in search of a foundation. I have the palest skin imagination and my problem is that I look pretty awful whenever flash photography is used. As part of what I do, I attend many events and come across professional photographers asking if they can take a photo of me. Now, one problem is that most professional photographers set their camera flash so bright because most of women who attend these events are usually tanned or wear a dark shade of foundation, particularly models and celebrities. Those bright flash settings may be great for those with tanned or dark skin but they are extremely harsh on the pale skinned, particularly on men because most men don’t even use a bronzer. Male celebrities do wear make-up or fake tan, so it is very little surprise that they look fantastic when shot on camera at night time.
I have felt frustrated by most of the photos I have seen of myself when flash had been used. So I have been looking to make my skin look a bit warmer. I told the make-up artist that I wanted to try a more golden shade, and she picked out a foundation which was a couple of shades darker than my skin. I couldn’t really see much of a difference, so I picked one out myself and it was the Cover FX N40 Natural Finish liquid foundation. First the make-up artist applied a primer. She then followed it up with the foundation and finished off my look with a powder around my face. You can see the results in the photos above. The difference was dramatic. I looked very different but I did like it.
What do you think? Does it look good? Does it look natural?
