Last night, the indoor ice rink at Westfield London kicked off in some style at a private party held on the First Floor. Champagne, cocktails, wine and some pretty incredible food were served to guests, which included celebrities. We were treated to a special performance by Save The Children’s Ambassador Choirboy Jack Topping before Christmas carols had us all in the mood for the festive season. Professional skaters dressed to impress in Christmas costumes as they wowed and dazzled us with a spectacular show.
Later in the evening, the ice rink was officially declared open after a very cool fireworks display and it wasn’t long before we all made our way down to skate on ice. It was quite a sensational experience as a number of music artists performed live on stage as I skated along. Beats listening to a DJ any day. One major added bonus of going to an indoor ice rink is that you don’t freeze. I did not even have my gloves on and my hands were fine. Skating outside would have been a different story. It easily my ever favourite ice skating session – I enjoyed it so much that I spent two hours on ice and am very nearly ready to remove my L-plates (I still have a bit to learn).
Westfield London’s indoor ice rink will open to the public today and will remain until 5th January 2014. Well worth a visit.
With thanks to Westfield for inviting me to its VIP launch party. It was most enjoyable and I am very grateful!
