It was a beautiful sunny day, filled with activities along the road. I have always loved Jermyn Street. It is known through-out the world for its shirt-makers, suits, shoes, barbers and cigar shops. There were live bands, luxury cars, catwalk shows and lessons were given out where you could learn about the dress code, decanting wine and becoming a modern butler. Fortnum & Mason were handing out free drinks. The Ritz had its beautiful Rolls Royce out for anyone to sit in, and see what it feels like to be wealthy. The catwalk shows were an excellent idea, as every model was styled using clothes you could actually go and buy from local stores. It was the perfect way for all the businesses to promote their goods and services, and for customers to sample them.
There used to be a time, when I was younger, I would walk along this street every day – and I used to dream big because this street is about living the dream. It is about living in style. I always feel right at home and still love going around when I can whether it is to buy a shirt, shoes or grab some food from Fortnum & Mason. The bar inside Waterstones on the 5th Floor is delightful, and of course I buy books from there too as it is an enormous bookstore! Jermyn Street can be found right in Piccadilly, right near Piccadilly Circus station tube station.
