I was asked by the lovely PR team at Nicole Farhi to come and have a look at the spring and summer collections. Back in September, I really enjoyed seeing the catwalk show back at London Fashion Week SS12 so was delighted to be given the opportunity to have a closer look at the diffusion line (Farhi by Nicole Farhi) as well as the mainstream range.
The collection was inspired by Nicole’s visit to Delhi in India when one morning she woke up and all the flowers were in bloom. She found them so beautiful and took some photos. Upon her return to London she spoke to her design team and said she wanted gardens and flowers to be the theme for the SS12 collection. The flowers are dominant, no doubt coinciding with the flowers that bloom in the spring. Lots of bright floral and garden colours are there to freshen the eyes – old gold, rose and pale pink to name a few. No black at all. Fabrics include silk cotton, plastic (for flower petals) and nylon. From the menswear, I really LOVE the cable knit cardigan (see it near the bottom of the post)! It is luxurious.
I was fortunate enough to meet with Nicole Farhi and spend some time chatting with her at another private launch event. It was highly enjoyable. Maybe I will get around to posting a photo of that meeting. In the meantime please enjoy my images from the SS12 collection.

Thank you, Cassie! :D The buttercup dress – yes I love that one too! It’s my favourite with beautiful plastic flowers. I use a Canon 500D but also do a lot of post production work to enhance them!

So much texture in this collection, but in the end it means there’s so much to take in it’s a bit overwhelming.
