Oliver Spencer backstage in photos at London Collections: Men SS14

The inspiration for Oliver Spencer’s spring and summer 2014 wardrobe came from Jean-Michel Basquiat, a New York born American artist who began his career as a graffiti
artist and went on to showcase his work internationally as neo-impressionist painter. Oliver explained that he was charmed by the way Jean-Michel looked and the way he wore the suit – it was all about eighties influence. References to the artist’s early work as a graffiti artist can easily be seen, re-worked using dying and bleaching techniques.

The casting and styling was carried out by William Gilchrist. Hair and grooming is by Johnnie Sapong at Jed Root using Toni & Guy and Dr Hauschka.
