It has been quite a while since I have blogged about the windows of Selfridges. I know many people love seeing the windows so I thought it was high time I produced a blog post about them. The luxury department store recently opened a temporary installation called “The Museum of Everything” which is described as “outsider art” by the museum’s founder James Brett. The exhibition is highlighting the works of artists with developmental disabilities, and concentrates on art pieces created in hospital workshops. Majority of window displays are dedicated to the project including every windows on the front side of the store and marks largest ever art installation in the history of Selfridges – with over 300 art pieces on show. A few of them on the side of the building also display products by Monki, Diesel, H&M and Kurt Geiger.
The Museum of Everything is currently open until 25th October and will include talks, screenings and workshops. To find out more about the project, please click here. To find out more about the workshops and participate in them, click here.
