One of the highlights of London Collections: Men SS16 was seeing Rosemary Goodenough’s pocket squares at the designer showroom. She is a painter and sculptor who made the move into designing men and women’s fashion accessories with her husband Michael, a portrait and abstracts photographer.

If you read my blog or tweets, you will no doubt be fully aware how much I love pocket squares. None of my outfits is complete until I have one in my suit jacket’s breast pocket. It’s remarkable how popular the trend to wear them as decorative pieces have become, particularly as it’s a fairly recent fashion occurrence in men’s fashion. Thank goodness for this though as they really do make an otherwise dull-looking jacket look interesting.

Rosemary’s luxury pocket squares are a marvel to look at. The colours are attractive, adventurous and exhibit men who are full of confidence. They make an immediate impression. With measurements of 45cm x 45cm, they are generously sized compared to most pocket squares and richly fill up your jacket breast pockets. Each square is digitally printed, inspired by her own original oil paintings. In her own words, her designs epitomise the quirky and eclectic look of 21st Century English aristocratic style. Famous names who are fans of her fashion accessories include the likes of David Gandy and James Middleton.

I love how she has injected her artistic side as a painter into making them wearable art. As a man who spends countless hours staring at paintings inside art galleries and museums every weekend, it is perhaps no surprise I love her accessories.
