One of my dreams came true many days ago when Louis Vuitton came knocking on my door and invited me over to their Press Day. It was such a tremendous honour to attend. I have loved the brand for some considerable time and still remember blogging about the very first day the New Bond Street Maison opened. Since that time I have written many blog posts about its products and incredible window displays, and now this. I am deeply grateful to the lovely Anna who works there – she stayed with me all the time and kept me company.
The theme for the autumn and winter 2012 collection is a train journey. A ride from the countryside to life in the big city. The passengers are met by immaculately dressed baggage handlers, hired by the Louis Vuitton train station company, and with that the stage is set. We all know LV make handbags and luggage so it all fits in with training travelling theme. There are hat boxes, vanity cases, weekend bags and petites valises in the collection. Bags, shoes and clothes are filled with sparkles and the jewelled brooch is really quite a beauty! There is emphasis on simplicity against pattern and texture. Marc Jacobs said he wanted it to be historic and looked back to the romantic past of the 1960s or 70s. Looking at the collection, I think he has achieved what he set out to do – the outfits and accessories certainly are, as you would expect, traditional and romantic.
And now watch the slideshow to see all the rest of the photos I took from the Press day. Enjoy!

Oh my freaking gosh. I wish I could have been there for this! The round glasses are FREAKING AMAZING. I would have loved to see this Louis Vuitton collection in person. Not such a big fan of the sparkly bags but I love the shoes in the 4th photo! Swoon! The toe shape is awesome. xx

I really love those round glasses as well – even if they are made for women. Could not resist trying them on!
