This is perhaps the very first time I have ever tried to customise… well anything using studs. It’s something I had been longing to do as then it would mean I would be able to put them exactly where I want them. There is something satisfying about doing it all by yourself as it then means it’s your very own creation.
I was sent a Diesel denim blazer & Levi’s shirt by designer outlet McArthurGlen Designer Outlets, and given a challenge to customise them using the studs they supplied me with. I was given 10 square shaped golden studs and made the decision to use them on the blazer. I thought carefully about this. Should I add those studs on the top of each shoulder? Or perhaps place them along the lapel, or around the cuffs of both sleeves? How about the chest? I decided on arranging them in a line, just above the outer pockets on each side. After wearing denim jacket and seeing what they look like on me in the photos, I am definitely feel I made the right choice. I think I may have caught the customisation bug now as I want to buy more studs to use on other clothes!
McArthurGlen Designer Outlets kicked off a Europe-wide campaign on 5th October called “The Art of Denim”. It is dedicated to all things denim and is working with fashion’s Queen of Denim, Donna Ida. Until 20th October, McArthurGlen Designer Outlets will be giving shoppers further savings on top denim labels, including Replay, Calvin Klein Jeans, The Kooples, Diesel, Levi’s and GUESS.
COMPETITION
McArthurGlen Designer Outlets has offered to give one of my blog readers a £50 shopping voucher to spend at any one of its six designer outlets (Ashford, Bridgend, Cheshire Oaks, East Midlands, Swindon and York).
All you need to do is tweet a picture of yourself in your favourite denim outfit/piece of clothing and mention the following in your tweet:
1) @McArthurGlenUK
2) @jaimelondonboy
3) The hashtag #ArtOfDenim
For example: “My favourite denim outfit: pic.twitter.com/xxxxx for the @jaimelondonboy @McArthurGlenUK #ArtOfDenim Twitter competition”. That’s it! I will personally pick the winner based on how good the outfit looks – so this competition isn’t about luck but how good your overall look is, to me. Good luck!
