Ever since coming across her blog, a la mode, via one of my most favourite fashion bloggers, The Style Crusader, I have been following fashion designer Charlie May for about a year now. Her street style looks always fascinate me because they are usually quirky and I love that. When I read that she was holding a presentation for her first ever stand alone collection I knew I had to go down there and have a look because I suspected each piece would stand out and would be something different from the norm. I was not disappointed. The collection dazzled me and I was happy to tell her that. The presentation was held up on the first floor, at The Soho Collective near Leicester Square – inside a room with big windows, overlooking the vibrant streets of Soho. It was a very bright sunny afternoon so the windows enabled plenty of sunlight to make its way inside.
What I found exciting about the styles of the collection was how Charlie kept them looking simple. There was nothing loud or outrageous. The entire collection oozes simplicity, almost a minimalist look but with a twist. The colours are kept simple but the tailoring and designs are stunning. One thing that always catches my eye when I am looking at clothes is the little details. I LOVE her eye for the details and wish she designed for menswear too – who knows what the future holds? For now, I can admire what she has designed for all you lucky women out there. An outstanding collection.
One of the highlights for me, was getting to meet Jennifer Inglis because I love her beautiful blog. She is such a warm person – full of smiles and we had a chat together, and I couldn’t resist taking her photo – since she is the very person who inspired my photography!

I got to meet many wonderful people (too many to list) at the event, including her amazing friend, Alexxsia Elizabeth. You can find Charlie May’s (brand) official website at www.charlie-may.co.uk

Thank you! Yes, it was challenging to shoot in there with so many people around – I took over a hundred photo and many of them had people blocking parts of the angle so I couldn’t use them. Luckily some of them came out perfectly too! Like Jennifer, your photography is quite breathtaking! :]

Aww, you are really SO kind! Thank you for helping me get up on there! I have my fingers crossed! I am up against some really stiff competition – like Susie Bubble’s hubby so I am not sure if I really have a chance but I am excited I got nominated!

Hey, any time! Really glad you like the photos! Yeah, it takes a lot of practice – I actually hated my camera at first but now love it.
