Yesterday one of London’s most famous streets for shopping, Regent Street, was decorated with beautifully hanged British flags as the city prepares for the Royal Wedding on Friday 29th April 2011. It looks spectacularly good and reminds me of some of the photos I used to glance at, in awe, of the old times (before my time) when this country used to openly show national pride. Standing on Regent Street yesterday filled me with immense pride. Even the tourists loved them, posing for a photos, snapping away with their camera. There were smiles everywhere. If you get the chance to visit, you must head down there because it will be an eternity before you get to see a London street draped in Union Jack flags again. I have never witnessed this happen in my lifetime! It’s very rare to see this country show some national pride, so it is very special indeed!

Hey, thank you Kristine! I appreciate it a lot. Thanks for the kind words, and for listing this blog on your own one. I love taking photos! :]

I felt the same way too, Alisha! It was like being transported back a few decades to old England – well before my time (I am a 90s child)! :] Make sure you get a photo of yourself on the street as it will probably never happen again.

Wish I could get one of those flags when they are taking them down afterwards :)

Thank you very much, LadyDoshka! I wish I could have one of the flags too! They should sell them off and donate the money to charity. I will definitely be putting many more photos up over the next few days and will take photos on the Royal wedding day too. Hope you will come back to check. :]

Hi Jai’me,
I do wonder what they do with all the festive decorations they put up around the city once they are done with it.
The Liberty of London Royal wedding window has some hilarious bits :) I will keep an eye out for your other photos from the day of.
