Hello everyone! Gosh, last Thursday was a maniac Thursday. There is so much happening right now, particularly as a lot of the big brands showcase their new collections for next spring and summer. One event I was immensely excited about attending was this one with McQ and Dazed, mainly because I remember just how good it was when I went to the last McQueen party last year. There was one earlier in the year which I sadly had to miss but it couldn’t be helped as I had already committed myself to a press trip to Scotland.

The evening kicked off with a mingling session over some delicious drinks, and I was very warmly welcomed by staff at McQ who kept me company. Later on we all moved upstairs where we were seated to watch Zing Tsjeng (Dazed Digital News Editor) conduct a Q&A session with Susie Bubble. I have tremendous respect for Susie, who to me is the best of the best when it comes to writing. Her in-depth coverage, particularly of the lesser known brands and designers out there is unsurpassed. Despite amassing some 242,000 followers on Twitter and blogging for over 8 years now, she still remains refreshingly down-to-earth. I have met and spoken to her many times and she’s always extremely lovely. I approached her just before the Dazed interview to say hello and she giggled as I gave her a kiss on both cheeks. During the Q&A she spoke about how much the blogging community has changed enormously over the years and isn’t as diverse as it once used to be. I found myself agreeing with this. I can only think of perhaps no more of a handful of bloggers who have distinctive styles – most bloggers dress much like many others, particularly the ones who follow trends after trends – there is very little to separate them from the rest. There was also a discussion about the fashion circus which erupts every time fashion weeks season is on and Susie was asked about her opinion on it. Despite the circus getting bigger each season, and peacocking fast becoming the norm, she doesn’t have an issue with it.

With all the questions out of the way, it paved the way for some more drinking, mingling and partying. Some members of the DAZED team came over to me to compliment me on my blog and we all worked up an excitement thinking about all the things we want to do over Christmas.
